HydroCision Launches the SpineJet XL for Spine Procedures

CHICAGO, IL; ANDOVER, MA, October 25, 2004 — HydroCision, Inc., the leading developer of Hydrosurgery instruments, announced today the release of the SpineJet XL as part of its SpineJet Hydrosurgery System.   The addition of this product to the SpineJet family broadens the scope of HydroCision’s product applications allowing the spine surgeon to perform spine procedures quickly, safely, and effectively.

The SpineJet XL product line was designed to provide spine surgeons with fast, safe, and effective instruments for disc space preparation in lumbar interbody fusion.   The SpineJet XL products combine unique cutting tips with high velocity fluidjet technology to simultaneously cut and evacuate tissue without removing the instrument from the disc space.   " Sub-optimal disc preparation and endplate violation can lead to patient complications such as pseudoarthrosis (non-fusion) and implant subsidence," said Joseph Plante, Vice President and General Manger of HydroCision, Inc.   "The SpineJet XL allows the spine surgeon to access and prepare the entire disc quickly and safely without numerous instrument passes by vital structures such as nerves and vessels.
