NEW
BRUNSWICK, NJ; ANDOVER, MA, October 25, 2004- HydroCision,
Inc., the leading developer of Hydrosurgery devices, announced
today the live webcast spine surgery featuring HydroCision's
SpineJet XL device on Monday, November 1, 2004, 3:00 - 4:00
pm EST.
Dr.
Steven M. Reich, Attending Orthopedic Surgeon from Robert
Wood Johnson University Hospital will be performing a live
webcast Transforaminal Lumbar Interbody Fusion (TLIF) procedure
on November 1, 2004 featuring HydroCision's SpineJet XL device.
The SpineJet XL product line was designed to provide spine
surgeons with fast, safe, and effective instruments for disc
space preparation in lumbar interbody fusion.
The SpineJet XL products combine unique cutting tips with
high velocity fluidjet technology to simultaneously cut and
evacuate tissue without removing the instrument from the disc
space.
Dr.
Reich remarked, “(HydroCision's) waterjet technology enables
(me)...to very quickly, effectively, and safely remove the
disc material (allowing me) to increase the cross sectional
area for a fusion to occur. The larger the cross sectional
area... the more likely a bony fusion will occur... and ultimately
the patient will be relieved of their pain.”
“We
are very excited about the opportunity for a highly skilled
surgeon like Dr. Reich to use our SpineJet XL devices in a
webcast surgical procedure," commented Doug Daniels,
President and CEO of HydroCision, Inc. "HydroCision's
SpineJet XL devices offer the surgeon a fast, safe, and effective
way of preparing the disc in a variety of open and minimally
invasive spine procedures. We look forward to participating
in more live surgical cases in the future."
