If you have chronic tendon pain in your shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, or are suffering from plantar fasciitis, please talk to Dr. Kelly Estes about TenJet.
Most tendon conditions fall into two categories: Tendinitis and Tendinosis.
Tendinitis is associated with inflammatory response to an injury. When a tendon is unable to heal or is repeatedly reinjured, the tendon fibers can break down causing loss of structure and loss of strength. This condition is referred to as tendinosis. At this stage, tendons may retain fluid, develop calcifications, have small tears, and, if left untreated, develop partial tears, full-thickness tears, or rupture.
Tendinitis and tendinosis are different types of tendon condition. Although tendinosis is often referred to as chronic tendinitis, understanding which condition is affecting you could impact your treatment and time to resolution, as each requires different treatment approaches.
TenJet enables sports medicine physicians to treat patients suffering from tendinosis or conditions commonly referred to as Tennis Elbow, Golfers’ Elbow, Jumper’s knee, Swimmer’s shoulder, Thrower’s shoulder etc. It can also be used to treat plantar fasciitis and calcified tendinopathy in the shoulder, elbow, hamstring, or the hip.
